While I agree with your rating, I am helpless in resisting it. Throughout my life, I have usually had at least one piece of unflattering paisley clothing.
I think my rationale is that I will be able to wear it with a lot of different things. Also, I look better in bright colors (but I must tell myself--not all at once!)
